Exciting news! The captain of FC Barcelona and the Spanish national team stopped by the ISL’s Barcelona Soccer Experience training session yesterday morning to greet our players.
Busquets met the 135 American football players who had traveled abroad to participate in the Barcelona Soccer Experience. All of the young players, who were thrilled to see a worldwide soccer star, were in for a major surprise.
Once upon a time, Busquets also dreamed of playing for a big team like Barça, and since 2005, he has been steadily realizing that dream. From playing for the Barça youth teams to wearing the captain’s armband, his tenacity, dedication, and diligence serve as an example for the younger generations.
We were lucky enough to see Sergio posing for photos with each player and giving them the motivation to keep playing professional soccer.
ISL created the Barcelona Soccer Experience program to give athletes access to a professional and international soccer experience outside of the US. Due to the restricted number of spots, athletes from all across the nation are reached throughout a scouting process in partnership with Barça Academy US.
This program gives American soccer kids and their families a special and one-of-a-kind opportunity to play soccer in Barcelona, where they compete against other Spanish teams while training with Barça Academy coaches. Along with Barça games, guided cultural trips, unique Camp Nou tours, and other surprises, this experience is an amazing opportunity for players who want to take the next step in
their football career.
